I checked my blog (front side of the blog) after so many days. The fonts and site design looks old-fashioned, kind-of ‘classic’. Yes, then default theme TwentyTen for the WordPress has officially become classic. I’ll re-design my websites soon.

Stop reinventing the wheel
…It’ll save you time and money. Use what is already there in the market- ‘ready-made’, ready to use. I remember, in college, I used to derive the math formula (in physics and calculus exam) if it doesn’t come to me off by heart. How silly of me, wasting precious time during test, deriving (reinventing?) what is universally accepted and given.
Fast forward to adulthood (the business decisions & real life scenarios): Compared to ready-to-use solutions out there, the do-it-yourself approach looks cheaper and attractive. You’re always tempted to use custom solution, tailor-made exclusively for you. But these often cheaper (or free as what they appear on the surface) solutions cost you a lot of time and end up very expensive in maintenance. You’d rather want to spend your time where it matter more than building something that is readily available. The customization or specialization that you may achieve in developing would hardly hardly make a difference of 10-20%.
I learned from the experience and the experiments but now I agree with the Hindi phrase महंगा रोये एक बार, सस्ता रोये बार बार ! for most of the cases.
I know how many questions I answered correctly on the GMAT, yet I didn’t receive my expected score. Why did this happen?
I know how many questions I answered correctly still I didn’t get the expected marks. how is it so?
You certainly cannot ‘expect (or estimate)’ your final score. You can’t calculate your score based on number of correct answers given. It’s not directly proportional to your score.
What are the elements of a successful AWA essay? Will I be penalized for grammar mistakes?
What AWA checks? I am made some grammatical errors in my essays but have written solid essay. Would I get less mark?
AWA section checks your ability to analyze the reasoning in a given statement and to assess critical flaws in argument. It also checks your writing ability to have a critical review on certain issue. Grammar plays less important role in AWA, you have verbal section to assess it.

I am not an American and I do not spell words in American English. I am worried that the “computer programme” that analyzes my essay will spot and error and penalize me?
I am not an American and don’t spell words like American English. I am worried that the “computer programme” while analysing my essays will spot my spelling mistakes and evaluate accordingly.
These issues do not matter much. You should be fine with British English spellings.
I heard that a computer program evaluates AWA essays?
I heard that a computer program evaluates essays in AWA section.
Yes. A computer program named E-rater, along with a human examiner (/grader) evaluates essays in AWA section.
Why are my AWA Essays evaluated after completing the GMAT? Why don’t I receive instant results?
Why AWA’s marks don’t get evaluated as soon as the exam is over?
AWA consists of essays that get reviewed and evaluated by examiners. Since there are no examiners sitting on the other side of computer to review your essays ‘real time’, it takes time to calculate the score in scale of 6.0
I ran out of time on my section. I selected a random answer choice but didn’t hit the ‘Confirm’ button before time expired. Will I be penalized for skipping a question?
I ran out of time. I chose a random answer but couldn’t hit confirm button for the last question. Will it be considered a blank/ unanswered question or my answer choice would be considered?
Fortunately, your answer choice will be considered. & if it was a correct answer, marks will be added even when you forgot to hit confirm button.
I ran out of time on my section and left a question unanswered. Will I be penalized for skipping a question?
I ran out of time & left question unanswered. Am I going to disqualify or penalize heavily for this?
Leaving last question (/questions ) black is worse than selecting wrong answer choices. At least try to select one random choice first before hitting confirm. GMAT score gets penalized in such cases but it’s not the end of the world. You’re not disqualified.
