Is calculator allowed in the GMAT test?
NO. Not even your digital wrist watch.

Your photo-identification card, maybe a driver license; for non-US citizen passport is must. You can also take a chit (small note) with you about the 5 b-schools’ name & their code you want to report your score to. Bring some food &/or energy drink you can consume outside exam hall, during the breaks.
I am not sure about the exact date or month. It is not officially declared, but I heard it will arrive by the end of 2008. It would come later but not earlier for sure.

The three latest editions combined, don’t have a common question/problem; that is: OG 11th Edition, OG verbal & OG quant. Do not have repeats. I’ll write it in more simple way:
A] OG-11th Edition + OG verbal + OG quant = No repeat
B] OG-11th Edition + OG-10th Edition: No repeat.
C] OG-10th Edition + OG verbal + OG quant : Many repeats (not a recommended combination)
Both have their own significance.
If any CAT simulation software one can trust, it’s GMATPrep™. How GMAT score is calculated is undisclosed by the official sources. But they have provided the tool to gauge the performance. GMATPrep follows the same algorithm as real the GMAT does.
GMATPrep™ is absolutely free. You have to register with mba.com first to download it to the computer, anyone can get it. Or it can be received via mail/parcel in CD format once GMAT date is booked.
